Our lesson this week is based on two stories of David showing mercy to King Saul when King Saul did not deserve mercy. King Saul had shown no mercy to David. Both of these stories occur as King Saul is trying to kill David. Twice David passes up the opportunity to kill his enemy. These two acts of mercy show David's godly character.
